Fireflies to Collect:
X

How to Play

In Firefly, your job is to collect fireflies from the bush and drop them into your jar. However, you can't just capture whichever fireflies you want, you have to collect them in groups of 3, and there are rules to which fireflies may be collected together. Each firefly is one of 4 different colors, is facing one of 4 different directions, and is blinking at one of 4 different speeds (one speed is not blinking at all) for a total of 64 unique fireflies. Each collection of 3 fireflies must have each of these 3 things the same or different.

Look at this group of 3 fireflies:

This is a valid collection of fireflies because each is a different color, each is pointed a different direction, and each have the same blink speed (not blinking). Remember, each part (color, direction, blink) of the collection of fireflies must be the same OR different!

Here is another example of a valid collection:

This collection is like the one above, but now each firefly has a different blink speed, making all 3 parts (color, direction, blink) different and so a valid collection.

Here is an example of an invalid collection:

This collection is not valid because while each color is different, and each blink speed is different, the directions of the fireflies are NOT all the same or all different: the red and green are pointed the same direction but the blue is not. To make this a valid collection:

Now the colors are all different, the directions are all the same, and the blink speeds are all different.

If you successfully drag a collection of fireflies into the jar one at a time, on the third one they will disappear and three more will take their place in the bush. If your collection is not valid, then the 3 fireflies will escape the jar and start to fly around - so you'll have to collect them again into valid collections!

You win the game when you have collected the number of sets of fireflies into your jar that you set at the start of the game!
